03 Long bio

For speaker pages, program books, and press

Jason Nellis has spent more than two decades working at the point where media, product, and creator culture collide — not as an observer, but as someone who has built there.

He began his career at Hulu during the early years of streaming, where as a Content Partner Manager he developed content strategy for accounts ranging from the White House to NBCUniversal and Comcast. He learned early that how content is packaged is as strategically significant as the content itself.

He went on to co-found Packagd, a startup built on the thesis that influencer content was generating more value than creators were capturing. Packagd was acquired by Meta in 2019, where the team built and launched Facebook Live Shopping, a rapid-response gift certificate program for small businesses during the pandemic, and Super — a creator monetization platform that powered VidCon's weekly interview series throughout COVID-19.

Jason has served as Chief Product Officer and Interim CEO of SuperBam, an IP and video rights management company, and currently leads strategy across two active ventures. He has guest-lectured at Northwestern, Howard, and Georgetown, hosted the podcast Building Value, and spoken on panels across Europe. He is based near Cannes, France.

Our next speaker has spent more than twenty years at the place where media, technology, and the creator economy meet — not as a theorist, but as someone who has built companies there, sold one to Meta, and helped launch products used by millions of people.

He started at Hulu in the early days of streaming, managing content partnerships for accounts ranging from the White House to NBCUniversal. From there he co-founded Packagd, which Meta acquired in 2019 — where his team built Facebook Live Shopping, a pandemic-era program that helped small businesses sell gift certificates overnight, and a creator platform that powered VidCon's interviews throughout COVID.

He has been a Chief Product Officer, an Interim CEO, a guest lecturer at Northwestern, Howard, and Georgetown, and the host of a podcast called Building Value. He speaks about the creator economy, the intersection of media and product, and where technology and creativity either compound each other or collide.

Please welcome Jason Nellis.

Who I Am

Twenty-plus years building at the intersection of media, technology, and the creator economy. Co-founder of Packagd (acquired by Meta, 2019). Former Content Partner Manager at Hulu. Chief Product Officer and Interim CEO at SuperBam. Currently running strategy across two active ventures from Cannes, France.

What I Speak About

The Creator Economy — How the relationship between platforms, creators, and audiences is being rewritten, what that means for media businesses, and where the real leverage sits.

Media Meets Product — How content strategy and product strategy have collapsed into the same discipline, and what operators need to understand about that shift.

Creativity and Technology — Where AI and emerging technology enable creative work, where they threaten it, and how to build at that boundary without losing what makes the work worth doing.
