Jason Nellis

Product & GTM Strategist · Operator · Writer

Twenty years building at the intersection of media, technology, and the creator economy. I translate ambiguity into structured strategy, and strategy into things that actually ship. I've co-founded companies, led acquisitions, run product orgs from scratch, and stepped in as CEO when the situation required it. The through-line is systems thinking and narrative clarity — knowing where the real leverage is, and making sure everyone in the room understands it too.

  • Led Amplify — content production and distribution product — defining roadmap and go-to-market in a competitive creator economy landscape.
  • Architected and shipped an AI deepfake takedown system — an industry-first capability that became a core differentiator for the company.

Meta (Facebook)

· Founder in Residence · NPE · Live Shopping

Entered Meta via the acquisition of Packagd. Held multiple roles including building Facebook Live Shopping inside the New Product Experimentation team and becoming Meta's first-ever Founder in Residence.

  • Built Facebook Live Shopping inside NPE — defining product strategy, creator tooling, and monetization architecture for the company's social commerce push.
  • Launched Super — a creator monetization product enabling fans to support creators directly inside Facebook Live.
  • As Founder in Residence (a role created for this engagement), operated as an internal startup operator: identifying product opportunities, building teams, and shipping new products within a large-scale organization.

Overachiever Media

· Founder

Founded a marketing and media agency. Acquired by Brllnt in 2016. The deal structure was instructive — a cautionary tale about negotiating exits that became part of the curriculum for future decisions.

Hulu

· Product · Growth · Marketing

Joined during Hulu's formative years — when the company was still figuring out whether streaming was a product or an experiment. Held multiple roles across product, growth, and marketing through the early era of on-demand television.

  • Contributed to early product development and user growth in the period when Hulu defined what on-demand streaming could be.
  • Learned — at scale — the difference between a good idea and an executable product. That distinction has shaped every role since.
  • First exposure to the platform thinking and ecosystem dynamics that became the spine of subsequent career moves.
